HOMEOCURE WORLWIDE: A PROVEN CURE FOR ALZEIMER'S/DEMENTIA

ALZHEIMER'S/DEMENTIA

I would venture to say that the regular layman isn’t quite sure what the difference between Alzheimer’s and Dementia is. Most of us average person don’t realize that all dementia is not Alzheimer’s.

Dementia is a general term for loss of memory and other mental abilities severe enough to interfere with daily life. It is caused by physical changes in the brain, this include memory, language skills, visual perception, problem solving, self-management, and the ability to focus and pay attention. And within the dementia umbrella, there are many different variations – With Alzheimer’s the most common type. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases. It is a continuous decline in thinking, behavioural and social skills that disrupts a person's ability to function independently. The early signs of the disease may be forgetting recent events or conversations. Everyone has occasional memory lapses. It's normal to lose track of where you put your keys or forget the name of an acquaintance. But the memory loss associated with Alzheimer's disease persists and worsens. As the disease progresses, a person with Alzheimer's disease will develop severe memory impairment and lose the ability to carry out everyday tasks. Alzheimer's worsens over time. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease, where dementia symptoms gradually worsen over a number of years. In its early stages, memory loss is mild, but with late-stage Alzheimer's, individuals lose the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to their environment. The greatest known risk factor is increasing age, and the majority of people with Alzheimer's are 65 and older. But Alzheimer's is not just a disease of old age. Approximately 200,000 Americans under the age of 65 have younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

What happens to the brain in Alzheimer's?

The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells. Two key proteins become abnormal in Alzheimer’s disease. The first is called amyloid, which becomes sticky and forms “plaques” around the cells, disrupting electrical signals. The other protein is called tau. This forms tangles inside the cells, stopping them working properly. To complicate matters, proteins and changes in the blood vessels can add to the problems in Alzheimer’s disease.

When lots of nerve cells die due to these changes, parts of the brain can appear to shrink in size. This can sometimes be seen on brain scans, as shown in above. The hippocampus is affected very early in Alzheimer’s disease. This part of the brain is vital for making new memories. For this reason, one of the first symptoms can be forgetfulness. The loss of nerve cells can also cause low levels of a chemical messenger in the brain. This messenger is called acetylcholine and it is very important for thinking and memory. Some treatments are used to boost levels of this chemical.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive condition, meaning it gets worse over time. New symptoms develop, depending on which brain areas are affected. They may include agitation, depression and wandering. In the later stages, some people may experience hallucinations, such as hearing voices, or delusions, which are false beliefs about the world around them.

Homeocure Treatment is available to help reverse and stop the damage caused by Alzheimer’s disease. With the ongoing support of charities around the world, we remain hopeful that our safe, natural, healing remedies and new found cure will be funded to help those that are desperately in need.

Stages of Alzheimer's

Alzheimer’s disease typically progresses slowly in these general stages: early, middle and late (sometimes referred to as mild, moderate and severe). Since Alzheimer’s affects people in different ways, each person may experience symptoms — or progress through the stages — differently.

Stage 1: No Impairment

During this stage, Alzheimer’s is not detectable and no memory problems or other symptoms of dementia are evident.

Stage 2: Very Mild Decline

The senior may notice minor memory problems or lose things around the house, although not to the point where the memory loss can easily be distinguished from normal age-related memory loss. The person will still do well on memory tests and the disease is unlikely to be detected by loved ones or physicians.

Stage 3: Mild Decline

At this stage, the family members and friends of the senior may begin to notice cognitive problems. Performance on memory tests are affected and physicians will be able to detect impaired cognitive function.

People in this stage will have difficulty in many areas including:

Finding the right word during conversations

Organizing and planning

Remembering names of new acquaintances

People with stage three Alzheimer’s may also frequently lose personal possessions, including valuables.

Stage 4: Moderate Decline

In stage four of Alzheimer’s, clear-cut symptoms of the disease are apparent. People with stage four of Alzheimer’s:

Have difficulty with simple arithmetic

Have poor short-term memory (may not recall what they ate for breakfast, for example)

Inability to manage finance and pay bills

May forget details about their life histories

Stage 5: Moderately Severe Decline

During the fifth stage of Alzheimer’s, people begin to need help with many day-to-day activities. People in stage five of the disease may experience:

Difficulty dressing appropriately

Inability to recall simple details about themselves such as their own phone number

Significant confusion

On the other hand, people in stage five maintain functionality. They typically can still bathe and toilet independently. They also usually still know their family members and some detail about their personal histories, especially their childhood and youth.

Stage 6: Severe Decline

People with the sixth stage of Alzheimer’s need constant supervision and frequently require professional care. Symptoms include:

Confusion or unawareness of environment and surroundings

Inability to recognize faces except for the closest friends and relatives

Inability to remember most details of personal history

Loss of bladder and bowel control

Major personality changes and potential behavior problems

The need for assistance with activities of daily living such as toileting and bathing

Wandering

Stages 7: Very Severe Decline

Stage seven is the final stage of Alzheimer’s. Because the disease is a terminal illness, people in stage seven are nearing death. In stage seven of the disease, people lose the ability to communicate or respond to their environment. While they may still be able to utter words and phrases, they have no insight into their condition and need assistance with all activities of daily living. In the final stages of Alzheimer’s, people may lose their ability to swallow.
